Quintas de Melgaço is the name, the image, the tangible side of a collective dream.
It is the coming together of 530 families from the most northern villages in Portugal, where the green landscape of the Peneda Gerês National Park blends in with the demarcated Vinho Verde region. The same green colours the hope of a group that aims for more and better wine-growing conditions for the producers of Melgaço and Monção, contributing to socio-economic development in the region. The mission has always been simple: to take Melgaço to the world, working with the Alvarinho grape variety, which finds its best home in this terroir. This has been the case for 30 years. Melgaço's Alvarinho has reinvented itself over time - in oenology, in conjunction with other grape varieties, with new viticultural practices. It has had different wrappings, bottles and labels. It has been tasted in private homes, restaurants, with Michelin-starred chefs and all over the world. Today, there are Alvarinho wines from Quintas de Melgaço in countries such as the United States of America, Brazil, Norway, Denmark and Japan, among many others. Where you taste Melgaço, you should also taste family, origin, tradition and, above all, future togetherness. Because where a bottle of this house goes, the 530 families who make it also travel, the team of professionals who work daily to maintain, manage and
promote the brand, as well as all the regional partners who enhance the experience of this wine.
