This wine is Quinta do Pégo's second wine, and just like the first, it was produced by the late South African winemaker Wouter Pienaar.
The wine is made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, and Tinto Cão grape varieties.
This elegant wine was aged in French oak barrels. Afterward, it was bottle-aged before its release.
It's a very good wine with an attractive deep red color. It offers an intensity of various fruit and berry flavors, well-integrated with notes of oak. The taste reveals a good tannin structure and a remarkably elegant, soft finish.
This harmonious and well-structured wine pairs well with beef, veal, red meat, game, and cheeses.
This is truly an extraordinary red wine, ready to be enjoyed now, but it also improves with bottle aging and has good aging potential.
