Soalheiro Oppaco

Oppaco is the first red wine ever produced by Soalheiro, marking a new chapter in our history. The goal was to approach the region’s red wines in an innovative way. It began in 2013 as a blend of two grape varieties typical of the Vinho Verde region—Alvarelhão and Vinhão (“Sousão” in the Douro region)—with the white grape variety Alvarinho. This combination highlights the elegance of Alvarinho and its light, fruity profile, which softens some of the harshness of Vinhão, thus producing a delicate, elegant wine with a remarkable balance between tannins, alcohol, and acidity. The name of this wine—Oppaco—stems from the fact that it is Soalheiro’s first red.
