Horácio Lourenço planted the first vines around four decades ago and laid the foundations for the company,
realising his dream of becoming a winegrower.
Jorge Lourenço was encouraged by his father and at just 18 years old, after finishing secondary school, he
wanted to improve his skills by taking a course as a young entrepreneur.
He took on the responsibility of modernising the 25 hectares of vineyards already planted, selecting new
varieties to expand the vineyard area and structuring the company to vinify the grapes and market the wines
produced.
This is how Jorge continued his father's dream, creating the Vinilourenço company and dedicating himself fully
to it for more than two decades, body and soul.
VINILOURENÇO is located in the small village of Poço do Canto, in the municipality of Meda, in the heart of the
Douro Superior.
