Campillo María La Viuda is a wine that originates at an altitude of 750 metres in Laguardia. Tempranillo grapes from our María La Viuda vineyard give it an aroma of tart black fruit that is very typical of Tempranillo from the Monte area, where the soil is rockier and more mineral-rich.
Harvest and Vinification
Hand-picked. Tempranillo and a small percentage of Graciano, which adds hints of lavender and black pepper, mainly noticeable in the aftertaste. Cold maceration for greater aromatic extraction.
Ageing
Aged in barrels for 21 months, 95% in new French oak barrels and 5% in new American oak barrels, which gives it sweet nuances.
“It is a very special wine, refined on the palate, smooth on the tongue and powerful in its fruit and wood nuances, with a lingering aftertaste'
