Winemaking – The grapes from this Castelão come from an old vineyard that is 75 years old, located on poor, well-drained sandy “heath” soils. Fermentation is carried out in small stainless steel lagares after cold pre-maceration for 24 hours, with aging for 12 months in “Allier” French oak barrels, 50% new and 50% second use.
Tasting notes - Ruby color, aromas of red fruits and small berries, some balsamic and light toasted notes. The mouth is intense and has good volume, presenting ripe and silky tannins, with an elegant, very fresh and intense finish.
Storage and serving recommendations - Store in a cool, dry place, with a temperature between 10 and 18ºC and relative humidity between 50 and 70%, with the bottle in a horizontal position. It is suggested to serve at a temperature of 15ºC.
