Collection: Foz Torto

In 2010, the first Foz Torto wines were born, and three years later, the 2010 Foz Torto red and the 2011 Foz Torto Vinhas Velhas white wines arrived on the market. A year later, the 2011 Foz Torto Vinhas Velhas red wine was released, made from old vines with more than 30 grape varieties. Also made with old vines, mostly Códega do Larinho and Rabigato, the white wines originate from a property acquired in Porrais, Murça.

When he moved to the Douro Valley, Abílio also went to study oenology at the university in Trás-os-Montes, but, as with everything else, he knows that it takes time and experience to make high-quality wines, so he entrusted the oenology of Foz Torto wines to Sandra Tavares da Silva, a renowned Portuguese oenologist.

Focused on the quality and consistency of the project, the producer from Foz Torto still maintains a small production – around eight thousand bottles per year – but its wines have won praise from consumers and good ratings from experts who discover this boutique wine that aims to pay homage to the Douro region.
