Collection: Herdade da Amada

In 2018, Herdade da Amada was acquired by the Marvanejo family, who honored the centuries-old traditions of the property planting 14 hectares of vineyards.
Localizated in Elvas, it´s the result of a family dream. This place stands out for its typical Alto Alentejo landscape, where the landforms translate into a diversity of altitudes that play a fundamental role, with the highest point at 306 meters.
The vineyard, planted on medium-textured clay-limestone soils and oriented from northwest to southeast, benefits from optimum conditions for its development, with the added value of privileged sun exposure, perfectly suited to each grape variety.
Herdade da Amada is characterized by having one of the largest terroirs in the Iberian Peninsula with vines planted using the traditional grafting method.
The vines were planted in March 2019 with bearded bacelos, selected by the characteristics of the soil, grape varieties, training system and production objectives after a careful preparation of the soil in terms of fertilization and correction.
The grafting techniques used were fork grafting and chip budding, during a period when the temperature was favorable, as was the humidity of the soil, which allowed for active sap circulation and tissue turgidity.
The grape varieties have been defined according to the qualitative objectives we want in the wines, based on a genetic base that allows us to express authenticity in terms of quality, as well as adaptability to the region's terroir.
